Tree House - Haas Brothers
The Haas Brothers — twin brothers Nikolai and Simon Haas — first came to prominence in the early 2010s for their functional design, represented by R & Company in New York, and have since expanded their practice into sculpture, painting, and architecture. They are known for a practice that cross-pollinates art, craft, design, and technology. The brothers describe their creative process as "problem-solving fantasies," producing materially rich work that draws on fictive characters, fantastic creatures, and other-worldly realms filtered through the cultural references of growing up in the 1990s. Their mastery of material, matched with insatiable curiosity and remarkable visual intelligence, continually sets them apart — and Tree House promises to be another lush, surrealist environment in the singular imaginative universe that has made the Haas Brothers one of the most compelling artistic partnerships working today.
