Skandia Cinema​,​ a masterpiece in Swedish Grace style

Skandiabiografen represents the golden age of cinema architecture and the Swedish Grace movement. It was designed by the Swedish renowned architect Gunnar Asplund (who also designed Stockholm Public Library). The cinema’s interior design is just astonishing. Wall reliefs that narrates tales from classical time period. Amazing lamps that add sophistication to the interiors. Dark colours in a perfect harmonious blend. The insides give an illusion of an outdoor amphitheater. Many of Stockholm’s cinemas were sadly converted into commercial spaces, like stores or restaurants.
