Portugal of the Little Ones
Founded in 1940 and designed by architect Cassiano Branco, Portugal dos Pequenitos remains one of Coimbra’s most beloved cultural attractions. In 2024, the park continued to combine its historic miniature replicas of Portuguese monuments, regional houses, and overseas heritage with a dynamic programme of educational and family-oriented activities. Visitors explored Portugal’s architectural and cultural diversity through child-scaled buildings while engaging with interactive games, workshops, and guided discoveries that connected the park to the city of Coimbra and its history. Throughout 2024, Portugal dos Pequenitos hosted special events such as Há Artes no Parque and Há Descobertas no Parque, featuring storytelling, theatre, music, creative workshops, exploration games, and hands-on construction activities for families and children. These initiatives reinforced the park’s original educational mission while keeping it relevant to new generations of visitors. By combining heritage, learning, and play in a unique setting, Portugal dos Pequenitos has remained one of Portugal’s most distinctive cultural destinations and a symbol of Coimbra’s commitment to family tourism and cultural education.
