Estoril Art Fair 2014

The Estoril Art Fair – International Contemporary Art Fair held its inaugural edition in 2014 at the Congress Centre, Estoril. The fair brought together 35 galleries from 9 countries — Brazil, Colombia, France, Germany, Mexico, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, and the United States — with the ambition of establishing an annual international contemporary art event in Portugal, positioned at the close of the global art fair season. Beyond the gallery booths, the programme included nine Solo Projects presented by participating galleries, the group exhibition Desenhar o Mundo ​/​ Drawing the World featuring 18 works, and a series of Art Talks with specialists from the art world. Drawing was chosen as the central theme of the fair, proposed to the participating galleries as a broad practice cutting across the different media of contemporary art. The event was supported by the Mayor of Cascais and aimed not only to attract gallerists, curators, and collectors, but also to engage a new generation of audiences interested in contemporary art.
