Clerkenwell Design Week 2017

Clerkenwell Design Week 2017 celebrated its eighth edition from 23–25 May, bringing together over 200 architectural and design studios across seven main exhibition spaces and 92 showrooms. The three-day festival catered to the city's architects and designers with a walkable route clearly marked by pavement signage in the event's trademark pink, peppered with site-specific installations — including seven landmark structures assembled within Clerkenwell's winding streets, serving as meeting points for interaction. True to the festival's spirit, exhibitors made creative use of the area, showcasing designs in churches and nightclubs. The 2017 edition programme spanned several curated sections: Design Fields was dedicated to international contemporary design, Project hosted over 20 leading contract manufacturers, and British Collection spotlighted homegrown talent in furniture and lighting. The Conversations at Clerkenwell series brought together design thinkers and influencers, including Doshi Levien and Sebastian Cox.
