BlowUp Jubilee
BlowUp Jubilee in 2026 transformed the centre of The Hague into a dynamic open-air museum. The special edition marks the fifth anniversary of the BlowUp Art Den Haag exhibition, bringing together iconic inflatable works from all previous years into one large-scale visual spectacle. Centred on air, colour, and design, the twenty installations by both Dutch and international artists are spread across the Museum Quarter — particularly around the Lange Voorhout and the Hofvijver — where they play with scale, volume, and form in a way that turns familiar public spaces into something wholly reimagined. Highlights among the installations include the colourful cylinders of Compressed Cylinders by Raw Color, an enormous yellow "doughnut" by John Körmeling, a gigantic purple curl by Kiki & Joost, the bright pink pavilion Gazebo by Sigrid Calon, reflective Eggs by Marcel Wanders, and a floating cooking pot by Studio Job. This year, the event also expands to Madurodam, where scaled-down inflatable works appear alongside the theme park's famous miniatures — including a piece by British artist Steve Messam installed at a miniature version of the Dutch Prime Minister's Torentje, a concept he had long hoped to realise.
