The *Art & Fashion* exhibition proposes a dialogue between works from the Gulbenkian Museum Collection and landmark haute couture creations from the last 150 years. Throughout the exhibition route, approximately 100 works—ranging from Ancient Egypt to the 20th century—appear side by side with 140 pieces by designers such as Dior, Cristóbal Balenciaga, Yves Saint Laurent, Gianni Versace, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Vivienne Westwood, Alexander McQueen, Guo Pei, Hubert de Givenchy, and Azzedine Alaïa, as well as Portuguese creators including Alves/Gonçalves, José António Tenente, Maria Gambina, Miguel Vieira, Nuno Gama, and Nuno Baltazar. Paintings, sculptures, jewelry, and other objects engage in a dialogue with fashion pieces that reinvent or reinterpret them. These encounters demonstrate how the aesthetics, ideas, and sensibilities of Art illuminate the universe of fashion.
