ARCO-Madrid 2007
ARCO 2007 was the twenty-sixth edition of Madrid's International Contemporary Art Fair, held in February at IFEMA. The edition highlighted a strong commitment to quality across the full spectrum of the art world, from historic avant-garde movements to modern and contemporary masters, while also carving out space for emerging artists through a dedicated new section called Projects. Diversity was a defining characteristic of the fair, spanning traditional works to high-tech installations, and drawing an exceptionally international roster of galleries. South Korea served as the edition's special guest country, bringing a prominent selection of high-profile Korean artists and offering visitors a window into new dimensions of Asian contemporary art. The 2007 edition also carried a sense of transition: it was the last time ARCO would be held in its traditional halls 7 and 9, as the fair was set to move to the brand-new halls 12 and 14 at Feria de Madrid the following year. Alongside these changes, ARCO introduced a redesigned layout and refreshed its parallel programming, including an International Experts Forum.
