Museum of Science Boston
In 2026, the Museum of Science in Boston had its biggest transformation in years. The Innovation: Earth exhibit explores climate solutions and emerging technologies, complete with a working indoor vertical farm and a Gaia Globe installation, while a temporary exhibit called In Search of Earth's Secrets, the New England Habitats, the Artic ecosystems, the Theater of Electricity's crackling Van de Graaff generator demonstrations, and hands-on robotics encounters — museum educators now demonstrate modern robotics with dancing, obstacle-dodging robots as part of Robot Roundup. Beyond the exhibit floor, the museum has expanded its identity through events like WaveForms, which blend global artists, animation, and audiovisual performance into experiences tied to science and technology. The biggest change was that Public Science Common, with a glass-front space overlooking the Charles River, was designed to turn the museum into more of a year-round civic hub for science. This expansion also includes a memorial sculpture of Leonard Nimoy's Vulcan salute out front, honoring the actor's Boston roots.
