Balbusso Twins: Illustrating With Two Souls

Balbusso Twins: Illustrating With Two Souls is the first major solo exhibition of Milan-based identical twin illustrators Anna and Elena Balbusso, currently on view at the Society of Illustrators in New York. The exhibition opened on April 15, 2026, and runs through July 11, 2026, showcasing a selection of their work in illustration, art, and design, and highlighting their unique and unconventional creative universe. More than 100 artworks are on display, including illustrated books, covers, portraits, magazine illustrations, and posters. Anna and Elena, who graduated in painting from the Fine Arts Brera Academy in Milan, have earned four gold medals at the Society of Illustrators' Annual Show, including three consecutive in the Books category. Their distinctive style — described as defying trends and merging seemingly opposite souls, including the commercial and artistic, pictorial and graphic, conceptual and decorative- features award-winning editions from The Folio Society and Beehive Books, as well as illustrated albums for publishers like Penguin Random House.
