Highlights of the year included exhibitions devoted to Jane Austen’s 250th anniversary, the pioneering photographer Julia Margaret Cameron, contemporary artist Lisa Yuskavage, and a major exploration of the Psalms in medieval art and culture. The early twentieth-century library, designed by McKim, Mead & White, whose richly decorated interiors house treasures ranging from medieval manuscripts and literary archives to musical scores and rare printed books.
