The 2013 American Fine Craft Show NYC and Contemporary Art Fair NYC was a dual-exhibition event held at the Javits Center in Manhattan. The natural light-filled venue hosted approximately 185 artisans and artists across the combined shows, with work spanning ceramics, decorative and fine arts, jewelry, and fashion. In its fourth year, the event was organized by Richard and Joanna Rothbard of American Art Marketing, a couple who had been directing craft shows for 30 years, and was sponsored by An American Craftsman Galleries. The Contemporary Art Fair NYC component served as a distinct platform within the larger event, focused specifically on emerging voices. For the prior three years, the Contemporary Art Fair NYC had provided New York with an eclectic collection of works by independent and unrepresented artists, with its location alongside the American Fine Craft Show. The 2013 edition carried a design theme centered on texture across both soft and hard surfaces, reflected throughout decorative pieces, fashion accessories, and fine art
