Art Legacy Hotel

The Art Legacy Hotel is a five-star property in the heart of Lisbon's historic Baixa district, housed in a building with deep roots — once home to the Sagres Insurance Company and later the headquarters of the Azorean Bensaude Group. Under the direction of architect Luís Rebelo de Andrade, the building underwent a meticulous seven-year restoration guided by the strict preservation rules of the Baixa Pombalina Safeguarding Plan, culminating in the hotel's opening in December 2023. Rebelo de Andrade redesigned the Beaux Arts façade and roofline to restore their original proportions, enriching them further with vertical gardens. For the interiors, he partnered exclusively with the Dutch design brand Moooi, producing a striking contrast between the building's classical exterior and bold, color-saturated contemporary spaces that engage all five senses. The hotel's 53 rooms wrap guests in an immersive aesthetic of vibrant hues, classic elements, and distinctive personality — a vision that recently earned Art Legacy a Michelin Key distinction.
