7th Annual Academy of Art Exhibit
The RA Schools Show 2013 was the annual exhibition of works by final-year students at the Royal Academy Schools, held in the historic studio spaces in Burlington Gardens, Piccadilly, London The exhibition invited students to display works developed over a three-year postgraduate period of study, giving visitors a rare opportunity to view and purchase exceptional pieces from an emerging generation of international artists. The class of 2013 followed in the footsteps of celebrated alumni such as J.M.W. Turner, John Constable, and John Hoyland, with more recent graduates including Matthew Darbyshire, Catherine Story, and Turner Prize nominee Lynette Yiadom-Boakye. The show featured a rich blend of traditional and cutting-edge contemporary practice — from painting, mould casting, and screen-printing to video, performance, and digital media — and students were supported throughout their studies by Royal Academician professors including Tracey Emin, Humphrey Ocean, Fiona Rae, and Richard Wilson.
