Théâtre du Renard, sadly neglected
I found the Théâtre du Renard at 12 rue du Renard, in Paris. A reminder of the city's rich Art Nouveau heritage. The façade is like a school example of the Art Nouveau style, it has all the beautiful elements like the flowing, organic forms. It is adorned with intricate carvings, iron cast patterns and these eye catching shapes of windows, its remarkable craftsmanship. Sadly, the Théâtre du Renard now stands as a shadow of its former glory :( It looks like the theatre has been left to fall into disrepair. It is heart-breaking to see such a beautiful piece of architectural and cultural history being so neglected. I really hope there be will funds and initiatives to restore this magnificent building. It’s also so odd to see the more modern/brutal architecture of the neighbouring buildings - was this on purpose or how did they think here - I was talking to some local by-passers and they truly hated these other buildings, can fully understand why!
