Gran Hotel in Palma de Mallorca
This is a splendid Art Nouveau building in the heart of Palma de Mallorca. Designed by architect Lluís Domènech I Montaner and completed in 1903. Explore the details of stunning architecture, featuring ornamental details that are so typical for Art Nouveau, or "Modernist style" as it was also known in Spain. One of the most distinctive façades - the building really stands out among the old town buildings of Palma de Mallorca. Originally a luxury hotel, the Gran Hotel was closed around 1942 and then repurposed for various uses until it was restored in 1993 by the Bank La Caixa. Today, it serves as a gallery and cultural center known as CaixaForum. This magnificent building is hosting exhibitions, concerts, and other cultural events, while also showcasing art collections - a true must to explore while on a trip to this beautiful town.
