A testament of time for Børsen in Copenhagen
The historic Børsen building in Copenhagen caught fire on April 16, 2024. This stock exchange building was originally constructed in the Dutch Renaissance architectural style and designed by the brothers Lorenz and Hans van Steenwinckel. This series of pictures were taken on 1st May, so about two weeks after this traumatic event. The fire destroyed a significant portion of the building's structure, including its iconic dragon spire. Efforts to rebuild the Børsen are underway, with the Danish Chamber of Commerce, which owns the building, committed to its reconstruction. The process is expected to be complex, lengthy and involving extensive restorations. Are you an expert involved in the restoration plans or otherwise knowledgable about the historical heritage of Børsen and willing to contribute with you knowledge? We'd be glad to hear from you, please create an account and contribute with your expertise, share pictures of the restoration process or other insights valuable to our community.
