The exhibition *Brazilian Modernism in the Edson Queiroz Foundation Collection* opened at the Belém Cultural Center. Featuring a selection of 76 works, the show allowed the public to immerse itself in the artistic trajectories of Brazilian artists active between the 1920s and 1960s. Curated by Regina Teixeira de Barros, with exhibition design by Daniela Alcântara, the exhibition works spanned the entire period, ranging from the early phase of modernism in Brazil—still characterized by European training, and featuring names such as Lasar Segall, Flávio de Carvalho, Anita Malfatti, Vicente do Rego Monteiro, and Victor Brecheret—to the emergence of the Rio de Janeiro-based Neo-Concrete Manifesto in the second half of the 20th century. Following a chronological timeline, the exhibition also presented works by members of the *Grupo Frente* and *Grupo Ruptura*—groups that coincided with a new era in Brazilian art, marked by the establishment of the Museums of Modern Art in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo, as well as the São Paulo International Biennial in 1951. The exhibition was held under the High Patronage of the Embassy of Brazil in Portugal, in a co-production between the Edson Queiroz Foundation and the University of Fortaleza (Unifor). Following its critical and public success in Lisbon, the exhibition was subsequently presented within the imposing building of the Embassy of Brazil in Rome. The triumph of this initiative reaffirmed the international prestige of the collection, which is recognized as a national and international benchmark in the field of Brazilian modernism—the result of decades of meticulous acquisition of high-quality works by the movement's most significant artists.
